Street & Park Operations is part of the Technical and Service Office in Strängnäs Municipality and takes care of the green public spaces. We value and are passionate about the green and sustainable. We primarily work with the operation and maintenance of the municipality's public areas such as streets, squares, grass areas, plantings, playgrounds, and forests. We also ensure that waste management and winter road maintenance function properly. Staff are located in Strängnäs, Mariefred, Åkers Styckebruk, and Stallarholmen.

We at Street & Park Operations are a cheerful team that enjoys beautifying the outdoor environment, and we are now looking for a new employee for our team for a temporary position! The temporary position is limited until August 31, 2026.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Your tasks will vary within park maintenance in public environments. This means that you, together with your colleagues, will oversee and carry out work in street maintenance such as waste management, pothole repair, minor repairs in the street environment, weeding in hard surfaces, sight-obscuring measures, winter road maintenance, sand collection, and some machine care.

You will assist throughout Street & Park Operations as needed. The work takes place outdoors year-round, so you should appreciate being outdoors in various weather conditions and enjoy beautifying our green environments.

The work can sometimes be physically demanding, which requires good physical condition; the work is also varied and diverse. Since the work takes place in a public environment, you will also meet, converse, and answer questions from our residents daily.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• a completed three-year upper secondary education.
• good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• a B driver's license.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

• previous experience working with tool carriers.
• handled machines in street maintenance.
• experience in winter road maintenance.
• performed minor repairs in the street environment.
• experience in machine care.
• operator's license for a wheel loader.
• C license for trucks.

Your personal qualities are important to us! You are engaged, meticulous, and responsible with a positive attitude. You find it easy to cooperate and contribute to a good working climate, but you can also work independently.
